Argentinos tonk Vélez, River lose their first match in the B, Newell’s & Olimpo draw (video)

Saturday saw Argentinos Juniors claim a comfortable win over Vélez Sarsfield by three goals to one in La Paternal; it was only Argentinos’ second win of the season, and almost certainly puts the final nail in the coffin of Vélez’s title defence, which in recent weeks had looked rejuvinated. Newell’s Old Boys later drew 2-2 with Olimpo in Rosario, and River Plate suffered an historic first defeat of their Nacional B season,2-1 at ‘home’ to Aldosivi of Mar Del Plata, in River’s last home match in San Lorenzo’s ground before they return to the Monumental in the round after next. Back in the Primera, Independiente and Arsenal de Sarandí drew 0-0. You can see all the goals right here.
