Apertura 2011: Rafaela down Vélez, Verón leaves to an ovation as Estudiantes beat All Boys and more (video)

Friday’s and Saturday’s matches in the 2011 Torneo Apertura have seen no shortage of goals, and as expected, one postponed match – San Lorenzo v Tigre will now be played on Monday at 20:30, for the reasons outlined in this post on Friday evening. Rafaela beat Vélez 2-0, and San Martín beat fellow promotees Unión by the same scoreline; Racing got a 2-0 win away to Colón; Argentinos Juniors beat Arsenal de Sarandí 2-1, and Estudiantes legend Seba Verón was substituted with a minute to go, to a standing ovation, after setting up two goals in Estudiantes’ 3-0 win over All Boys. It was Verón’s last match at the Estadio Único de La Plata, apparently, which makes me unsure where Estudiantes’ last game of the season is going to be played – Quilmes, presumably. Anyway, all the goals are here, as well as the one from Boca Unidos’ historic 1-0 win over River Plate in the Nacional B.

Estudiantes 3 – 0 All Boys

Argentinos Juniors 2 – 1 Arsenal

Colón 0 – 2 Racing

Rafaela 2 – 0 Vélez

San Martín 2 – 0 Unión

Nacional B 2011-12: Boca Unidos 1 – 0 River Plate
