Olimpo beat Rafaela in the Clausura, River go through in the Copa Argentina (video)

The fourth round of the 2012 Torneo Clausura ended on Monday evening with Olimpo de Bahía Blanca getting a last-gasp penalty winner against Atlético Rafaela in a potentially important match for the relegation standings. On Tuesday night, second division River Plate were in action in the Copa Argentina, and beat Sportivo Belgrano de San Francisco 2-0 to move to the next round. Goals from both matches are here.

  1. Very unlucky Rafaela – Pavlovich was definitely offside when Rolle played the ball forward, though the foul was a bit brutal.

    Franzoia’s goalscoring record has been pretty abysmal since he left Huracán, which is a shame for him because he can be a fast exciting player who can flash past a defence – well he was for Huracán, and if he could finish better he could have been interesting for European clubs. Now he’s scoring a few goals again, perhaps a promoted River or even a Racing might be interested in him to give him one last chance to become a really big name. He hit the post in this game as well I see.

    Wish I’d actually seen this whole game, the better matches always seem to be on when I’m asleep. Apart from Racing’s last one, which was the reason that I was asleep… :-(

    Next week, mark my words, Racing’s season *will* begin. All Boys, pah…
