The eighth round of the 2012 Torneo Clausura has seen its fair share of surprises and goals already, and we’re only halfway through. First of all, on Friday night, Belgrano surprised Lanús away from home thanks to a late penalty, and then on Saturday Independiente returned to winning ways, dispatching Rafaela 2-0, Argentinos beat Tigre 2-1 in Victoria to ruin Tigre’s chances of drawing level with San Lorenzo in the relegation table this week, and Unión and Godoy Cruz shared the points in Santa Fe. Prior to all that, Olimpo and Banfield – two of the worst teams to watch this year – had shared seven goals as Banfield improbably beat their hosts 5-2. All the goals from all those matches are here, plus River Plate’s three without reply against Ferro Carril Oeste in Nacional B.
Olimpo 2 – 5 Banfield
Unión 1 – 1 Godoy Cruz
Tigre 1 – 2 Argentinos Juniors
Independiente 2 – 0 Rafaela
Nacional B: River Plate 3 – 0 Ferro
