Sorry I’ve been silent since Thursday, folks. It’s been a very busy weekend and I haven’t been sleeping at all well. All is looking up now though, so without further ado let’s look back over the weekend gone in Argentina’s Primera División. Boca Juniors are top, two points ahead of Arsenal de Sarandí, with Newell’s Old Boys (who drew 1-1 away to Godoy Cruz), Vélez Sarsfield (who were held 1-1 at home by Independiente) and Estudiantes (who lost 2-1 away to Belgrano) forming the chasing pack. Tigre lost a third consecutive game to complicate their survival prospects, and the clásico between Racing and San Lorenzo, postponed until Monday, ended in a 1-1 draw meaning San Lorenzo are now four points ahead of Tigre in the relegation table. All the goals from the weekend, including the golazo that earned Atlanta a 1-0 win against River Plate in Nacional B, are right here.
