Clausura 2012: Boca take advantage as Newell’s are held by All Boys (video)

Saturday’s Primera División matches in Argentina saw Boca Juniors take a small lead over previous joint leaders Newell’s Old Boys. Newell’s were held 1-1 by All Boys in Rosario, before Boca beat Colón de Santa Fe 1-0 thanks to Santiago Silva’s second league goal for Boca, after which he wrapped himself in an advertising banner to celebrate. San Martín won their clásico with Godoy Cruz 1-0, and later on Independiente kept up their recent great form with a 2-0 win over Banfield. All the goals are right here – as is Instituto de Córdoba’s winner in their 1-0 victory over Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy to stay top of Nacional B (the second division).

San Martín 1 – 0 Godoy Cruz

Newell’s 1 – 1 All Boys

Boca 1 – 0 Colón

Independiente 2 – 0 Banfield

Nacional B: Gimnasia (Jujuy) 0 – 1 Instituto

Insituto’s win means River Plate have to win on Sunday in order to keep the difference between the two top clubs in the second flight down to a single point.
