Boca Juniors and Lanús both began the knockout stages of the Copa Libertadores on Wednesday night with 2-1 scorelines. Boca’s win came at home to Chilean side Unión Española, and a few hours later Lanús took on Vasco da Gama in Rio de Janeiro and lost 2-1, having been lucky to still be in the game at half time, they started so poorly. Earlier in the day, San Lorenzo had drawn 1-1 with Barracas Central before putting them out of the Copa Argentina on penalties, 5-4. The goals from all three matches are here, as well as the one from Vélez Sarsfield’s 1-0 win away to Atlético Nacional in the Libertadores on Tuesday night.

All the Copa Libertadores last sixteen second legs will be played next week. For those unfamiliar with the competition’s format, away goals are used in the event of an aggregate draw.
