Saturday saw some interesting scores in the day’s main matches. First, Arsenal de Sarandí played Independiente in a match notable for the absence of the head figures in Independiente’s barra brava, barred from the game by the club’s president. Arsenal won 3-1 and part of the second half was held up by said barred barras throwing rocks into the stadium from outside. Later, Argentinos Juniors shocked Vélez Sarsfield, beating 2-0 away from home, and Tigre tonked Unión de Santa Fe 4-0 in a match which featured two incorrectly-disallowed goals (one for each side). That result leaves Tigre joint top with Boca Juniors (who play on Sunday), but also in the relegation zone of the promedio table. In Nacional B, River Plate beat Gimnasia y Esgrima de Jujuy 1-0 with another David Trezeguet strike to move to within a point of leaders Instituto. All the goals are here.
