Superclásico Inicial 2012: River Plate 2 – 2 Boca Juniors (video)

The superclásico returned to Argentina’s top flight after a one-and-a-half year absence on Sunday, and although River Plate had largely the better of the play in a tetchy match, Boca Juniors midfielder Walter Erviti got a stoppage time equaliser to wipe the smiles from the home team’s faces. I’ll try and get a better quality video embedded later, but for now, this is the earliest acceptable-quality one I’ve seen featuring all four goals.

River’s opener was scored by Leonardo Ponzio after just a minute and a half, and Rodrigo Mora, the man of the match, doubled the lead in the second half. A little over a minute later Santiago Silva was given the chance to pull one back from the penalty spot, setting up an edgy end to the game during which Erviti eventually pounced.
