Argentines Abroad: Lavezzi & Pastore combine to give PSG a first-leg Champions League win (video)

Tuesday saw the start of the knockout stages of the 2012-13 European Cup, and with it the visit of French mega-spenders Paris Saint-Germain to Valencia. The Argentine connection was strong on both sides – Ever Banega and Tino Costa were involved for Valencia, with Pablo Piatti an unused sub – but it was PSG’s who were more effective. Javier Pastore and Ezequiel Lavezzi combined to devastating effect for the latter to open the scoring, and Lucas Moura was to provide an assist for Pastore to double the lead late in the second half. PSG dominated totally, but Valencia snatched a late goal to give themselves hope for the second leg. You can see the goals here.
