Libertadores: Tigre grab a last-gasp win & Boca lose at home again (video)

Wednesday and Thursday brought three more games involving Argentine sides in the Copa Libertadores, with mixed fortunes. On Wednesday night Tigre hosted Brazilian Serie B side Palmeiras (relegated last season, but playing in the Libertadores thanks to winning the Copa Brasil), and after weathering a storm late on they grabbed a winner with the very last kick of the game to claim a 1-0 win. On Thursday, Arsenal de Sarandí grabbed a heroic 1-1 draw away to São Paulo to keep their slim chances alive, and Boca Juniors afterwards hosted Nacional of Uruguay, and were beaten 1-0 despite dominating possession; yet again in 2013, they let a goal in from a set piece. All those goals are right here.

Tigre 1 – 0 Palmeiras

São Paulo 1 – 1 Arsenal

A quick note on this video; it is from a Brazilian channel (in fact, it appears to be from a São Paulo FC channel) and watching it, you’d believe the home side dominated the game from first to last and that Arsenal were lucky to escape with a point. In fact, although Arsenal didn’t manage any shots on target, they did have eleven shots in total against their hosts’ fourteen, so things were a little more even than the video below makes them seem. I’ve used it mainly because it’s good quality image-wise.

Boca Juniors 0 – 1 Nacional
