Inicial 2013: Arsenal go (temporarily) top after a low-scoring Friday (video)

There were three matches in the Torneo Inicial on Friday, and only three goals. First, Arsenal de Sarandí got a 1-0 win over Godoy Cruz which took them top of the league on goal difference ahead of Newell’s Old Boys, who play on Sunday. All Boys and Rosario Central drew 1-1 in a relegation clash, and in the evening’s final game Estudiantes drew 0-0 with Vélez Sarsfield. All the goals are right here.

Arsenal 1-0 Godoy Cruz

Ramiro Carrera scored the only goal of the game in the 54th minute as Arsenal got the three points they needed to keep up in the title race and keep Godoy Cruz scrambling in the relegation battle.

All Boys 1-1 Rosario Central

This was goalless at half time, with Chilean midfielder Gonzalo Espinoza having been sent off for All Boys for a ridiculous two-feet-on-an-opponent’s-knee foul, but moments after the restart Mauro Matos put the hosts into the lead. 66 minutes in, Federico Carrizo equalised for All Boys.
