For the first time since HEGS began back in February 2007, I won’t be attempting to provide any live coverage of the superclásico today. That’s because, for the first time, I’ll be at it. The good news, though, is that wherever you are, it’s never been easier to watch, because the Argentine government’s Fútbol Para Todos program has extended onto the internet this year. That means there are two options for free, worldwide and legal streams in high quality. The super will be live on their DeporTV stream. That’s not geo-blocked, but it is a poorly put together website, so you might have to hit refresh a bunch of times to get it to work. If you don’t have any luck with it, Fútbol Para Todos’ own site will have a live YouTube stream – again, not geoblocked – to enjoy. Their scheduling is a little less clear than DeporTV’s, but if you click this link shortly before the game kicks off, there ought to be a YouTube stream embedded on the page.
Hopefully, those links will help you get over my lack of action on Twitter this afternoon – the game starts at 18:15 Argentine time (17:15 Eastern Daylight Time, 22:15 British Summer Time). In the meantime, you can read my two previews of it; first, for The Bubble, here, and if you’re looking for a prediction, for Hong Kong Jockey Club (though in all honesty, I wouldn’t recommend placing any stakes on this one).
