The weekend just gone has been a good one for River Plate and Boca Juniors (although the current round of matches doesn’t actually end until Tuesday night due to elections in Santa Fe Province). San Lorenzo and Rosario Central, with whom River and Boca were tied on 21 points at the start of the weekend, both dropped points, and on Sunday River thrashed Banfield 4-1 and Boca got a deserved 3-1 win away to Lanús, meaning that when the league reconvenes in two weeks’ time (this weekend there are more primary elections in the rest of the country), the two great rivals will go into their clash at La Bombonera level on 24 points at the top.
Aplogies for the less than brilliant quality of the videos. Fútbol Para Todos puts them up in better quality, but infuriatingly doesn’t upload one video featuring all the goals from a given match – and who’s going to watch nine different embedded videos one by one?
