The twenty-fourth round of Superliga matches ended on Monday evening. In the evening game, Colón hosted Patronato, and with two first-half goals from Javier Correa, followed by late strikes from Alan Ruíz and Gustavo Toledo, handed them a 4-0 pasting which is Patronato’s second heaviest defeat of their debut top flight season. Later, Defensa y Justicia visited Independiente in Avellaneda – Ariel Holan’s current club hosting his former side – and ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a Mariano Bareiro goal which damages El Rojo‘s Copa Libertadores hopes, leaving them sixth with three matches to go.
