Argentina’s clubs start their Libertadores group campaigns (highlights)

Argentina’s five Copa Libertadores group stage representatives all started their qualification efforts this week – and all with rather frustrating results. There were goalless draws all round on Tuesday: Godoy Cruz got a creditable one at home to Olimpia of Paraguay, San Lorenzo visited Melgar of Peru, where both teams absolutely stank the place out, and Boca Juniors were held at the altitude of Cochabamba, Bolivia, by 2017 quarter-finalists Jorge Wilstermann. That pattern continued on Wednesday, with two much better matches, and some goals, but still just a point apiece for Rosario Central (at home to 2017 champions Grêmio) and defending champions River Plate (who needed a stoppage time free kick from youngster Cristian Ferreira to rescue a point away to Alianza Lima). On Thursday, in a match which kicked off in torrential rain in Parque Patricios, Huracán slumped to a 1-0 defeat at home to Brazilians Cruzeiro. The highlights, such as they are, are all here.

Godoy Cruz 0-0 Olimpia

Melgar 0-0 San Lorenzo

Jorge Wilstermann 0-0 Boca Juniors

Rosario Central 1-1 Grêmio

Alianza Lima 1-1 River Plate

Huracán 0-1 Cruzeiro
